The landscaping of Lou Lim Iok Garden which spans over approximately 1.78 hectares was originally a renowned private garden belonging to an affluent trading family who commenced its landscaping in 1904. However, unfortunate financial circumstances forced the sale of the property which was subsequently acquired by the Macau government. The garden was restored to its former glory and opened as a public park in 1974 enabling both locals and tourists to enjoy its remarkable natural beauty and unobtrusive landscaping.
